A VIBRANT COMMUNITY
The playful and cultural project dedicated to children and families, now in its second edition in 2023, ‘Una comunità animata’ (A Vibrant Community), is an initiative promoted by Municipio 7 in collaboration with Hines and with the endorsement of the Municipality of Milan. It was conceived by Equa Cooperativa Sociale, which has been operating in the Milan and hinterland area for 30 years, designing educational, socio-educational, and socio-assistance services. The project also involves the participation of the multifunctional educational centre developed by the University of Milan Bicocca.
This summer initiative is part of a year-round program designed to continue offering educational and recreational activities to children, even during the summer months.
The project aims to strengthen the neighbourhood’s identity and offer engaging and inclusive educational pathways, which transform into moments of genuine joy and community sharing, conveying the importance of caring for and respecting sharing public spaces.
The launch of the initiative has led to a true educational celebration in the district’s squares: in response to the megaphone call from artists and performers, young and old alike fill the streets to participate in the many playful and educational activities organised by volunteers and specialised educators.
Girls and boys, families and seniors, now have the opportunity to explore noble arts such as street theatre and circus, the world of singing and acting, further reinforcing their sense of community and attention to public spaces.
Even more packed with activities and events, this year’s offerings by the animators from the participating associations have brought the streets to life with performances by street artists from the Duetti e ½ association.
This edition also saw the return of the ludobus, Equa Cooperativa Sociale‘s mobile bus, which houses a wide array of games, from those involving physical activity to those that stimulate creativity, and even games inspired by different cultures, all constructed using recycled materials to promote the responsible use of everyday objects.
Thanks to the rich calendar of events, even the families accompanying the children were able to benefit from a parenting service provided by the Cooperative Co.Esa and access free medical check-ups.
Furthermore, children had the opportunity to explore Parco delle Cave through guided tours that introduced them to its four artificial basins, woods, watercourses, and urban gardens, allowing them to learn about and care for one of the most important green areas in their neighbourhood. All the days were documented by the metropolitan web radio station Radio Live from Shareradio, involving both adults and children in broadcasts conducted using eco-friendly cargo bikes.
