A KILOMETRE OF BIODIVERSITY

THE PROJECT

A scuola di comunità” made a unique and colourful urban skyline bloom on the walls of the Ex Trotto Milano construction site in March 2022 through the exhibition “A Kilometre of Biodiversity.” This project was presented at the Milano Graphic Festival and executed by children from the primary schools of Municipio 7 Don Gnocchi e Radice, guided by the illustrator and muralist Camilla Falsini.

SOCIAL VALUE

The project “A Kilometre of Biodiversity” was born out of the desire to engage boys and girls in the exploration of biodiversity, in a journey of knowledge and discovery of environmental sustainability and its appreciation through artistic representation.

The imagination and cheerfulness that the children have infused into the street art piece invites young and old to contemplate the value of sustainable social development and the importance of respecting and caring for public spaces.

THE NEW FLORAL SKYLINEE

Through a collaboration with artist and muralist Camilla Falsini, known and loved for her colourful, symbolic, and imaginative art, the flowers and plants imagined came to life in colourful and unexpected forms. The artworks have adorned the fences of the construction site, foreshadowing what will be the future centrepiece of the Ex Trotto project: the new life of the iconic original Trotto track as a one-kilometre ring park, with spaces dedicated to citizens for sports, recreational, and community activities.
